"This was released on a DVD as part of a special edition of my monograph, Childhood. It’s one of my favorite video works. I spent so, so long making and editing this thing. I was trying to get to the core of something, to communicate a very precise feeling, and also attempting to kind of make the video equivalent of my still photographs. Like, if my photographs could move, how would they move? If they could hear, what would they hear? It also doubles as a story I’d had in my imagination for many years — of a band of three brothers trying to make it big in the music industry, playing every dingy shopping mall in Oklahoma, while giant tornadoes tear through the landscape. More on this in other sections."
